BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Job Description and Requirements
  • Identifying, seizing and converting new business opportunities to a target.
  • Acting as a company advocate and promoting our position as market leaders in UAE events.
  • Learning and maintaining an excellent working knowledge of the company's products and services.
  • Meeting potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network.
  • Researching new potential markets and revenue streams.
  • Developing and maintaining exceptional client relationships.
  • Setting clear relationship building targets.
  • Maintaining an excellent and up-to-date knowledge of international and local events calendars.
  • Keeping abreast of new developments in the events industry.
  • Maintaining and utilizing several social networking profiles.
  • Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organization.
  • Plan approaches and pitches.
  • Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements; tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments.
  • Locates or proposes potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities.
  • Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options and resolving internal priorities.
  • Develops negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating partners' needs and goals.
  • Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.


Client Retention

  • Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships.
  • Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs.
  • Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs.

Business Development Planning
Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends. 
Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels. 
Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales. Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company's unique selling propositions and differentiators. 
Proactively create your own network in order to assist new and organic business development 
Develop robust sales strategies to counteract competitive events
Attend exhibitions events and competitor events (both domestically and internationally) thereby maintaining relationships, expanding the database and prospecting for new business

  • Ensure that data is accurately entered and managed within the company's EBMS or other sales management system.
  • Produce business development strategic plan for submission to directors
  • Deliver forecast sales targets
  • Understand the company's goals and purpose to continually enhance the company's performance.
  • Understand and practice the principles of key account management.
  • Work closely with senior management and other team departments to develop and execute your sales and business development plans.

Working Conditions
  • Mainly in an office environment and hence is not exposed to any physical hazards by the nature of work.
  • Travel locally and internationally.
  • Not subject to physically demanding work.
Experience

Essential

  • Education: MBA Degree in Sales or Marketing.
  • Language: Fluency in English language. Some Arabic language preferred.
  • Exhibition / venue knowledge
  • Microsoft Office
