PUBLIC RELATIONS MANAGER

Job Description and Requirements

Job Purpose:
Plan, manage and implement a fully integrated Public Relations (PR) programme for the group companies by partnering with companies' heads to meet the business objectives and goals through the delivery of innovative, efficient and cost effective PR solutions.

Principal Accountabilities:
1. Protect and enhance the reputation of the Group through interactions with external media, public and private institutions and enterprises to gain positive publicity and foster relations.
2. Develop and implement strategic PR programs and initiatives to improve public perception of company
3. Maintain effective working relationships with local and municipal government officials and media representatives.
4. Cultivate relationships with key business journalists in national and trade publications.
5. Write clear and compelling pitch letters, press releases and by-lined articles.
6. Identify media trends, news cycles and spin opportunities.
7. Analyze and measure results of PR programs, thru KPIs or other tools.
8. Evaluate and implement sales promotion programs.
9. Prepare and publish newsletters and other company literature.
10. Create motivational videos.
11. Produce annual reports on financial status of firm.
12. Develop and maintain corporate image and logos.
13. Develop and launch Internet or intranet web pages.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS/BA Degree in Journalism or Mass Communications.
  • Post-graduate qualification in PR (preferred) or professional accreditation in public relations
  • Excellent knowledge of the internet and understanding of new digital media is also necessary as the group will be moving aggressively into this medium.
  • Strong network of B2B, national business and trade media contacts.
  • Established relationships with general business, consumer and entertainment trade press/analyst/blogger communities.
  • Proven successes in both traditional and interactive PR channels.
  • Acute sense of judgment, tact and diplomacy.
  • A strong-sense of teamwork and ability to both manage AND execute programs.
  • Knowledge of international publications and opportunities is a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (Arabic/English).
  • Solid writing skills (writing samples required) (Arabic/English).
  • Additional technology prowess given priority (WordPress, videoblogging).
  • Avid consumer of news, politics, entertainment and magazines.
  • Strong personal interest in political science, business issues or public policy.
