HEALTH & SAFETY OFFICER

Job Description and Requirements


Principal Accountabilities
1. Shall be familiar with current H & S legislation relevant to Civil Construction project.
2. Advise and assist all personnel on the project for implementation of Health and Safety plan and compliance with the relevant H&S legislation.
3. Monitoring and reporting the entire work site on daily basis, Identify and eliminate hazards and imminent danger site conditions, on-the-spot corrective action of unsafe acts and conditions noticed.
4. Planning requirement of first aid, fire fighting and personal protective equipment and organizing monthly staff safety meetings and maintaining minutes of meeting.
5. Providing induction programs for all the staff and workmen at their arrival at site, in co ordination with main contractor, and organizing refresher sessions if required.
6. Organizing inspection of scaffolding, ladders, power tools and stores, at a regular basis, maintaining records, Preparation and submission of weekly and monthly reports.
7. Submit job hazard analysis for each major phase or element of work as necessary and arrange training to the concerned operatives for specific task.
8. Initiating and reporting investigation into accidents/incidents and recommending preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
9. Act as member of site crisis management team and represent project safety meetings.
10. Comply with project requirements and liaise with the main contractor/consultant Safety representatives as and when required.

Minimum Requirement
Minimum educational, professional and vocation qualification required
Health and Safety Assistant

1. Three years diploma in Electrical or mechanical with minimum two years experience in related Discipline or Matriculate with science subjects and Technical training certificate with minimum three years site work experience.
2. Acceptable HSE training certification from reputed organization.
3. Computer application (words and Excel ) desired
4. Good Management and inter personal skills.
5. Good report writing and presentation skills in English.
6. Self motivated and self starter
