Adjunct Faculty - Marine Transport

Job Description and Requirements
Position Summary

Faculty provide effective instruction in one or more of the Engineering Technology & Science disciplines. Curriculum is taught to second language learners within a student-centric learning environment that fosters respect for students, their culture, and their traditions. Faculty play an important role in assisting with the development and preservation of system-wide and directorate-specific policies, and are viewed as active participants in academic and extra-curricular events at the College and within the community.

Adjunct Faculty are temporary teaching staff employed within the college to enhance student learning, and who bring with them a wide array of practical knowledge and varied experience. To be considered for an adjunct position, candidates must reside in the UAE and be able to provide the HCT with a 'no objection certificate' (referred to as an NOC letter) from your visa sponsor. Adjunct faculty are paid monthly for contract hours (teaching time) per week.

Requirements
  • Master's Degree in a relevant discipline
  • PhD desirable
  • Minimum of 3 years of Marine Transport teaching / training experience at a tertiary level
  • At least 3 years of relevant industrial experience in an area of Marine Transport
  • Must be able to provide instruction at various levels within the program areas
  • Excellent presentation skills, both theoretical and practical
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated competency to interact with people at all levels of the organization
  • Overseas teaching / training experience to non-native English speakers is desirable
