Scheduler Engineer

Job Description and Requirements

As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.

You will have a minimum 12 years of full project life cycle scheduling and planning experience experience related to: petrochemicals, refining, pipelines, infrastructure or power generation, and you will have experience with FEED and EPC projects.

You will have experience with Primavera P6 and spreadsheets, with database capability.

You will have excellent communication skills and have knowledge in system aspects of Planning/Risk software.

Duties & Responsibilities:
As the successful candidate you will perform the following duties and responsibilities:

Provide planning and scheduling support required in the execution of major capital projects.

Develop Project WBS (work breakdown structure) using the latest project planning and scheduling tools, e.g., Primavera.

Review and monitor schedule and progress submitted by contractors during detailed design drawings, procurement, and construction. 

Discuss, coordinate and resolve short- and long-term planning and scheduling problems with personnel throughout the company, and with contractor organizations.

Deliver timely, accurate and sensitive project controls information that facilitates a clear understanding of the performance of the project in relation to planned performance targets.

Plan and provide work direction as required for the preparation of planning and scheduling control systems and other practices, to give Engineering and 

Construction supervisors the means to evaluate and improve the efficiency of their project execution.

Participate in all meetings, (i.e., program review meetings, progress meetings, coordination meetings, constructability review meeting, etc.) and manage all communications regarding project planning activities.

Review and verify Contractor’s engineering and procurement planning system, procedures and tools, ensuring alignment and integrity with other tools and contractual requirements.

Follow up all program development exercise with EPC contractor’s, including program baseline development. Also, verify the effectiveness of program mitigation plans.

Participate in developing overall progress report and periodic reports (weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports).

Review and comment on Contractor’s program (Contractor's Baseline, look ahead update, any revised schedule), Contractors Manpower forecasts, as well as Contractor’s submitted reports.

Provide program impact analysis and variance analysis.

Provide critical paths analysis and address critical issues of the project.

Follow-up the equipment/materials delivery as well as engineering work packages issuance.

Evaluate the resource plan and progress measurement system established by EPC contractors and participate in progress and monthly invoice evaluation exercise.

Participate in change management process and trends analysis also highlight potential problems with recommendations for remedial action.

Ensure changes have been incorporated in the project plan/schedule.
