Public Relations Specialist

Job Description and Requirements
  • Ability to work independently and initiate actions to advance the capabilities of the Corporate Communication function to support evolving and dynamic business environment.
  • Collaborate with internal, affiliated partners or external stakeholders to capture effective and content –rich messaging and narratives and integrate into communications strategies/plans.
  • Employ and interpret stakeholder data and insights to prompt or influence stakeholders to desired behaviors, enhanced levels of awareness, or produce other measurable and definitive outcomes.
  • Develop and present strategies to executive and functional leadership.
  • Independently problem-solve, overcome challenges, and take action to facilitate development and delivery of BCPD communications products, while supporting a wide variety of corporate and business-line actions.
  • Independently conduct required research to develop key insights and support the development of communications strategies, messaging and other products.
  • Work horizontally and vertically within organizational matrix and build productive and reciprocal long-term relationships.
  • Produce graphics (e.g., tables, charts, etc.) or other illustrative, supporting content for use in presentation format (PowerPoint).
  • Understanding of statistical inferences to support trend-based analysis.
  • Serve in back-up capacity for other team members, as necessary.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • 10 or more years of experience in Public Relations, communications, or a related field.
  • Preference given to energy or chemicals sector experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or Public Relations preferred.
  • Expert English writing skills.
  • Superlative analytical and deductive reasoning skills.
  • Strong business acumen and familiarity.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft applications (I.e., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
