Exploration Systems Analyst (GIS)

Job Description and Requirements
  • As a successful candidate, you should hold a Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or closely related field. A specialized MSc or PhD in the GIS field is desirable.
  • You must possess an expert level of GIS domain knowledge related to managing and handling GIS field data, CRS and datum conversion, data formatting/ storage and best practices for geospatial data management, and publishing.
  • You must have a master level in ArcGIS desktop software, with fair knowledge on other available Open Source GIS solutions in the market and you should be well aware and up-to-date of ArcGIS Pro software capabilities and has a working experience in GIS technology migration projects.
  • You must be experienced in developing Python- and ArcObjects- tools and add-ins to streamline GIS-based business processes and workflows
  • You should be well-exposed to all ESRI Add-ins and extensions specially 3D, spatial and network and other 3rd party extensions with excellent experience in building advanced geoprocessing models to analyze and optimize geospatial data
  • You should have well established and updated experience in administering and promoting high availability ArcGIS enterprise environment (including server, Portal, Data Store, Analytics, etc)
  • You should have participated in Geospatial analytics projects with exposure to enabler technologies and libraries in the field of mapping and location based analytics with big data.
  • You should be experienced in remote sensing technologies and workflows, with applications related to oil and gas business.
  • Duties & Responsibilities:
  • You are required to perform the following:
  • Work with Geoscientists to review and optimize GIS- and mapping- based workflows and establish best practices guides for managing GIS business processes.
  • Enhance geospatial data handling and management and optimize spatial database performance.
  • Review adopted GIS technologies and provide recommendations on potential substitutes in the market.
  • Optimize and support ArcGIS Enterprise environment and enhance redundancy, service monitoring/ alerting, and high availability to achieve minimum service down time.
  • Develop advanced geoprocessing/geoanalytical models using Python or ArcObjects.
  • Architect and develop GIS focused solutions utilizing latest programming and software development trends.
  • Develop custom ArcGIS desktop plugins to automate and optimize GIS- related business processes.
  • Support and optimize remote sensing environment and related projects.
  • Transform the GIS environment to be IR4 (VR, AR) and data science ready and develop the blueprints to achieve that.
  • Develop and deliver GIS tailored trainings, focused on Upstream workflows related to oil and gas exploration business.
