Electrical Designer

Job Description and Requirements
  • As a successful candidate you should hold a technical or vocational school certificate in electrical or any other engineering disciplines with at least 15 years experience. A bachelor s degree in engineering is highly preferred, where we require a minimum of 10 years experience.
  • You must have a working knowledge of industry codes, such as NEC, IEC, API etc.
  • You should have a good knowledge of the process and equipment of gas-oil separation plants (GOSPs) and water injection facilities.
  • You should be able to use Micro Station, Auto Cad and SPI (Smart Plant Instrumentation InTools) software for the development of the design packages and drawings.
  • You should be flexible to work in both onshore and offshore facilities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • You are required to perform the following:
  • Develop detailed design packages including drawings, calculations, related material specifications, interaction with vendors for electrical related packages.
  • Prepare new key electrical design drawings, including single line diagrams, cable schedules, electrical details of new equipment, using Bentley MicroStation for new projects.
  • Modify existing electrical design drawings using Bentley MicroStation.
  • Learn Saudi Aramco iPlant drawing management system for searching of existing project related drawings.
  • The incumbent shall have knowledge of how to interpret and produce technical specifications and drawings related to electrical systems in large oil and gas plants (i.e. Electrical Single Line Diagrams, Electrical Networks, Motor Control Centers etc).
  • Conduct field survey to gather data and help in formulating a safe, constructible and economically viable solution for the project in hand.
  • Prepare construction material take-off lists for the materials called in the design drawings.
  • Train and mentor young and less experienced to young engineers, designers and draftsmen.
