VINIRMA Consulting is currently looking for Senior Database Administrator for one of its clients which is a Business Consulting, IT Solutions and Services company in Qatar with the following and terms and conditions.


Job Specific Skills: 


  • Capacity planning, performance analysis and tuning (ORACLE/Exchange/SQL DB) 

  • Maintains database by identifying and solving database requirements 

  • Identifies database requirements by  interviewing  customers;  analysing  department applications,  programming,  and  operations;  evaluating  existing  systems  and  designing proposed systems.

  • Recommends solutions by defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, database security, data back‐up, and recovery specifications.

  • Installs revised or new systems by proposing specifications and flowcharts; recommending optimum access techniques; coordinating installation requirements.

  • Maintains database performance by calculating optimum values for database parameters; implementing new releases;  completing  maintenance  requirements;  evaluating  computer operating systems and hardware products.

  • Supports database functions by designing and coding utilities.

  • Maintains professional and  technical  knowledge  by  attending  educational  workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state‐of‐the‐art practices; participating in professional societies.


Advanced Database Administrator Skills and Qualifications:


Experience with  database  performance  tuning,  database  security,  promoting  process Improvement, problem solving, presenting technical Information, and quality focus. 

Advanced  database management,  data maintenance,  operating  systems, and attention  to detail


Key responsibilities 


  • Executes Troubleshooting  methodology  and  root‐cause  analysis  to  resolve  small  to intermediate level problems. 

  • Act as a Tier II focal point to resolve all break/fix and service degradation issues.

  • Adheres to the agreed event management notification and escalation procedures.

  • Lead availability management activities to optimize maintenance and design measures that meet contracted SLA’s. 

  • Adhere to change management process and procedures.

  • Prepare and execute systems maintenance plans to proactively manage reliability and service expectations.

  • Responsible for upgrading, and managing OS’s on all production systems.

  • Perform periodic reviews of Configuration Items (CIs) to ensure compliance with policies and standards. Perform thorough operational readiness activities.

  • Prepares and  maintains  technical  documentation  to  assist  with  the  on‐going  operation, maintenance, and development of the enterprise services.

  • Perform configuration management activities to manage work instructions and implement configuration changes following agreed procedures.


 Minimum Qualifications:


Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent field

Advanced Database certifications or equivalent experience  


Experience:  Minimum 8 years of experience in  relevant field
