General Manager

Job Description and Requirements

General Manager needed for a leading distributor of engines and power generators in Beirut, Lebanon

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent
  • MBA degree is a plus
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in a similar role (GM, Country Manager, etc.)
  • Experience in the engine and power generator fields is an advantage
  • Commercial experience is required
  • Excellent strategic planning skills
  • Strong analytical and financial skills
  • Good knowledge of all business process (finance, HR, procurement, operations etc.)
  • Excellent leadership and reporting skills
  • Excellent communication skills with good command of English
  • Native Arabic Speaker

Job Description:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations
  • Design strategy and set goals for growth
  • Maintain budgets and optimize expenses
  • Set policies and processes
  • Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally
  • Oversee recruitment and training of new employees
  • Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance
  • Direct the employee assessment process
  • Prepare regular reports for upper management
  • Ensure staff follows health and safety regulations
  • Provide solutions to issues (e.g. profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors)
