Head of Health & Safety - Regional Loss Prevention - Kuwait

Job Description and Requirements
  • Inspire the Fire Safety and Health & Safety Managers to manage and develop the skills of the team to ensure capability and succession planning in the Loss Prevention department.
  • Work with Senior Leaders in the Loss Prevention department to identify solutions which will support business improvement, taking into consideration market specific requirements.
  • Invest time in stakeholder engagement across the organization, ensuring relationships are built, developed and maintained for maximum output and support.
  • Support the Director of Asset Protection to manage costs of the Health & Safety field team, ensuring the reducing and controlling costs for their prospective markets.
  • Work with the Health & Safety Managers to develop tangible strategies which will support the company in preventing risk and protecting profit through the MENA region, understanding the differences in trends for each market.
  • Responsible for achievement of the relevant part of the LP Annual Plan highlighting shortfalls and devising strategies to ensure completion on time. Review Health & Safety areas which require focus, planning improvements and methodologies to drive the strategy for the next 16 months.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Diploma level qualification in Health, Safety and Environmental Management. 
  • NEBOSH Certification (Health & Safety)
  • Strong knowledge of fire safety management arrangements and systems
  • Strong knowledge of construction safety arrangements, logistics, warehouse safety arrangements and risks.
  • Minimum 10 years management level experience in health and safety / civil protection.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience of retail operations.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience of leading a health and safety team / department.
