Senior Executive - Fashion Division

Job Description and Requirements

With consumer demand for international retail brands continuing to develop dramatically in the Middle East and throughout our global markets, Alshaya is implementing a rapid growth strategy aimed at doubling its turnover and retail coverage in the coming years. The Fashion division represents circa 25% of the total company income with 23+ brands, 1,000+ stores and 6,000+ employees across Middle-East & North Africa, Turkey, Eastern Europe and Russia. The Fashion portfolio includes major iconic global brands such as Debenhams, Mothercare, Next, Topshop, American Eagle, Footlocker, etc.

The Role:

The Senior Executive will be fully responsible for single or multiple combined P&Ls of the Fashion division. S/he will lead a team of senior fashion managers who are currently in charge of running international fashion brands. The incumbent will be a member of the Division’s operating board and will be ultimately accountable for achieving the brand(s) budget(s). The role will be based at Alshaya's headquarters in Kuwait and will report directly to the Division’s Top Management.

The Responsibilities:

*To develop Fashion & Footwear brand(s) in the Middle East

*To be fully accountable for the P&L(s) delivery and growth of the brand(s)

*To lead strategic brand development & business planning

*To review performance of the brand's objectives and standards

*To manage delivery of optimum ongoing sales and cost performance

*To maintain "host" brand/partner stakeholder relationships

*To be responsible for setting product and pricing strategies

*To manage brand location strategy alongside with the property Division  

*To develop brand marketing communication strategies

*To provide team development and leadership

*To share best practices and cascade them into brand operations

The Requirements:

*10 - 20 years gained in Fashion & Footwear retail, including a minimum of 8 years as a senior manager

*Full P&L accountability and delivery evidenced in high growth retail expansion environments

*Evidence of successfully developing either a single brand or a portfolio of multiple brands

*Strong Fashion &/or Footwear sales, operations, product, merchandising and trading experience (buying capabilities a plus)

*Successful track record of multi-site retail management experience (international exposure an asset)

*Combination of "hands-on" operational knowledge with strong people development skills

*Proven track record of management of multi-support function expertise

*Demonstrable experience of consistent employment in a respected retail/franchise group
