President - Fashion Division

Job Description and Requirements

With consumer demand for international retail brands continuing to develop dramatically in the Middle East and throughout our global markets, Alshaya is implementing a rapid growth strategy aimed at doubling its turnover and retail coverage in the coming years. The Fashion division represents circa 25% of the total company income with 23+ brands, 1,000+ stores and 6,000+ employees across Middle-East & North Africa, Turkey, Eastern Europe and Russia. The Fashion portfolio includes major iconic global brands such as Debenhams, Mothercare, Next, Topshop, American Eagle, Footlocker, etc.

The Role:

The President - Fashion will be fully responsible for the P&L of  a portfolio of brands within the Fashion division. S/he will lead a team of senior fashion executives who are currently managing some of the leading international fashion brands. The incumbent will be one of the members of Alshaya's operating board and will be ultimately accountable for achieving the division's budget. The role will be based at Alshaya's headquarters in Kuwait and will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

The Responsibilities: 

*To lead the development of a portfolio of brands within the Fashion division

*To ensure the divisions’ objectives, programs and plans are fully aligned to the company’s development strategy as per the Annual Operating Plan (AOP)

*To make sure all managed brands within the assigned portfolio delivers the required results and achieves their budgets

*To lead and develop a team of Vice Presidents/Business Directors capable of producing the required outputs, delivering critical leadership

*To set-up, maintain and enhance strategic partnerships with franchise host brands located overseas

 The Requirements: 

*At least 20 years of leadership business positions in prominent multinational companies

*Proven track record of successful global achievements in the Fashion Retail/Wholesale and/or FMCG sector

*A track record of multi-function P&L accountability within complex/matrix corporate environments across multiple regions and markets

*Very strong strategic and operational capabilities

*Demonstrated ability to influence a variety of support functions

*Successful track record of significant and quantifiable growth and profit achievements

*Some experience living abroad as an expatriate would be preferred
