Web Development Assistant

Overall purpose of the role:


The Web Development Assistant will work with the iMMAP Web Development Officer to assist in creating and updating software documentation, setup, test, and administrate systems, in addition to other web development related tasks as requested. These include, but are not limited to, design, develop, and maintain websites and applications.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Maintain detailed technical documentation of architecture, code, application functionality, and servers
  • Assist in testing, maintaining, and administrating websites and applications
  • Be responsible for the first line support for the websites and applications, by receiving and troubleshooting queries and problems from staff and end users
  • Use open source technologies for websites and applications
  • Collaborate on needs definition and technical designs for websites, and applications
  • Develop using PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other web technologies as requested
  • Collaborate with an agile, multi-disciplinary iMMAP units, including business and technical members
  • Report to iMMAP Web Development Officer to ensure all activities are properly documented
  • As part of the iMMAP commitment to organizational learning, and in support of the understanding that learning organizations are more effective, efficient and relevant to the communities they serve, it is expected that the Web Development Assistant will commit 5% of their time to learning activities that benefit iMMAP as well as individual professional development.

Perform other duties as required



  • 0-1 year experience in the same position


  • Create and maintain software documentation
  • Proficiency with the MVC concept
  • Experience in PHP and SQL
  • Basic understanding of front-end technologies: JS, HTML, CSS
  • Knowledge of Git

Zend Framework knowledge is a plus .



Bachelor Degree in CIS, Computer Science or equivalent field.
