Assistant Provost for Community Service

The Assistant Provost for Community Service (AP-CS) is the administrative leader who oversees community service projects, programs, and operations at the university. Reporting to the Associate Provost for Research and Community Service, the AP-CS manages the Ras Al Khaimah Research and Innovation Center (RAKRIC), the Center for Executive and Professional Education (CEPE), and community service programs in the Office for Research and Community Service. The AP-CS engages the external community and works collaboratively with AURAK’s deans, program chairs, faculty, administrators, students, external partner agencies, industries, government and other stakeholders to mount successful projects and services to promote sustainable development initiatives and AURAK’s non-credit programs.    Qualifications include: • Earned doctorate in engineering, applied sciences, or business, consistent with the post-holder having faculty rank at level of assistant or associate professor at the university • At least 10-15 years’ progressive experience in administrative roles in a medium to large university or public or private organization • At least 5-7 years’ experience in a senior academic/administrative role in university or public organization • Knowledge of strategic management, budgeting and financial management, sustainable development, community/industry engagement, business development, partnership management, and academic service learning • Extensive experience in planning supervision, negotiation, and advocacy • Advanced proficiency in speaking, reading and writing English • Advanced proficiency in speaking, reading and writing Arabic
