SENIOR FUNDAMENTAL ANALYST

Job Purpose:
The job holder is accountable to provide sound fundamental analysis and support of portfolio/fund managers in making investment decisions.

Principal Accountabilities:

  1. Compiles statistics and financial statements on potential listed regional and global companies to determine fair company's values and project its future earnings.
  2. Evaluates on daily basis recommendations prepared by various securities companies and brokerage houses to screen investment prospects.
  3. Performs industry research, including competitive macro-economic analysis, market landscape analysis for various industries in different markets to make recommendations on potential investment companies for group portfolio.
  4. Conducts independent analysis of industry data as needed to support research requirements and investment planning.
  5. Prepares financial research relating to portfolio stocks and fixed income products to provide input to regular portfolio evaluation.
  6. Provides support on private equity opportunities/mandates by performing financial due diligence, scenario/sensitivity analysis and valuation exercises to support private equity investment decisions.
  7. Develops dynamic quantitative factor model for various stock markets which helps in asset allocation, stock selection and risk management to substantially enhance alpha generating potential of the portfolio.
  8. Giving weekly presentations and actively communicating with portfolio managers to support portfolio investment/divestment decisions.


Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Statistics, or Economics
  • Master's Degree in Finance or Business Administration/CFA Degree is desirable
  • 3-5 years experience in fundamental analysis and valuation in local & regional and international equity markets
  • Proficiency with Client, Reuters and other financial databases
  • Ability to conduct fundamental analysis using top-down/bottom-up, financial modeling and valuation (DCF, DDM, and Residual Income Model)
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills are essential. Good communication skills; ability to work independently.
