Director - Knowledge Management

Position Summary

The Director - Knowledge Management is responsible for enterprise data management, analytics and reporting, in collaboration with senior management across the enterprise. He/she is responsible for defining and executing Data & Analytics strategies in a dynamic environment and in support of Higher Colleges of Technology programs and operations. He/she is the champion for organization-wide data collection, knowledge sharing, and systemic learning so that pertinent information and experiences are shared internally, and as appropriate, externally with stakeholders. This role is responsible for working with business units to forward the identification, analysis, packaging and dissemination of knowledge to improve program, technical and operational effectiveness and efficiency.

Requirements
  •  Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required e.g. Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information System.
  • Full English proficiency is required.
  • Advanced data analytics tools know how is required. i.e. data lakes, data warehousing, BI tools, AI.
  • Know-how in developing and delivering knowledge sharing programs.
  • Minimum of 10 years of work experience in Data Science, with at least 4 years of experience in a managerial role.

Strategic

Contribute to the formulation of HCT's system-wide strategy.
Contribute to the development of the Education Technologies' strategy in alignment with HCT's system-wide strategy.
Collaborate with business leaders to develop data-informed strategies in service of enterprise goals.
Develop analytics capabilities across the enterprise and enable self-service reporting through technology implementation.
Develop knowledge management strategy and annual framework for implementation.
Identify best KM practices and leverage existing technology and skill set to create new systems and business intelligence forums.


Operational

Establish data and analytics policies, standards, organization. Create and oversee reports on data metrics and has executive-level responsibility for all enterprise information/data management budgeting and initiatives.
Maximize Data Quality and Data Warehousing: Create strategy to capture the right type of data and metadata, ensure consistent, clean and integrated data, which will be used by business leaders to make data driven decisions.
Navigate Unstructured and Big Data. Take inventory of all that unstructured data - the big data challenge - determining its format, security, ownership, quality and what should - and shouldn't - be captured.
Pioneer Emerging Technology: Effectively deploy innovation labs, data lake, data catalogue, and data science to promote self-service and predictive insights.
Provide timely information and insights that enable employees to improve decisions, optimize processes and plans and work proactively.
Promote knowledge sharing through the organization's operational business processes and systems by, among others, strengthening links between knowledge sharing and the information systems, and improving integration among information systems in the organization, to facilitate seamless exchange of information across systems.
Share experiences across communities of practice, business units, and networks on innovative approaches in knowledge sharing, including preparation of case studies.
Help monitor and evaluate the knowledge sharing program, including external benchmarking and evaluation programs/opportunities.
Create and manage a central repository for technical, operational and programmatic tools, systems, policies, and other relevant documents.


People Management

Provide professional development support and perform periodic performance reviews for direct subordinates based on HCT's Performance Management System.
Develop workforce plans and work with the Human Resources function on succession planning for key positions.
Work with the Human Resources function to provide employees within Data, Analytics and KM with the required competencies through appropriate and blended learning.
Collaborate with the Human Resources function for recruitment of talent within Data, analytics and KM.
Contribute in an effective and efficient manner to the recruitment and development of UAE Nationals.
