PURPOSE OF POSITION

To manage Healthy Kitchen Operations, logistics, procurement, distribution and stock maintenance for the Project. Making arrangements for office supplies, including warehouse management in the camps. This role will play a critical part in managing and shaping the Healthy Kitchen Meals distribution to the Schools in the camps. The job holder will work alongside the Working Group and UN lead agency on the day-to-day planning, coordination, distribution and reporting on Project deliverables to identified beneficiaries towards achieving WVI objectives. The candidate will also actively participate Working Group Meetings in the camps.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES 

Project Management and Coordination:

·         Implementation of WFP-Healthy Kitchen Project’s activities in the Camps. Managing IBVs/Kitchen Workers, oversee stock control and availability of all the required food and nonfood items, supervise and manage the production and distribution of meals/Date-bars.

·         Regular coordination with WFP, UNHCR, UNWOMEN and SRAD for the day-to-day operations in the camp identifying CFW IBVs for Healthy Kitchen Project.

·         Ensure the required and timely procurement of all goods for the implementation of the project.

·         Ensure that all the HACCP standards are followed during the production and distribution of Healthy Meals.

·         Ensure all the required permits are in place required for the implementation of the project.

·         Ensure the successful operation of the project in the camp following organizational standard operation procedures.

·         Provide support and guidance to Data and Admin officer in-order to raise and submit the PRs for all the required goods to project officer and keep regular follow-ups with Project Officer and Procurement department on the timely delivery of supplies.

·         Participate actively in the Working Groups and coordination meetings in the Camp and bring up all the successes and challenges faced in the operations of the Project in Camp.

·         Participate in needs assessments and contribute to the development of the response plans.

·         Communicate the needs identified by the Project Team to support the Project implementation, program and office supplies sourcing and/or stock release.

·         Agree with Project manager on the Project implementation and Food required for the Production of Healthy Kitchen Meals.

·         Oversee operations in the Camp and implement staff training programs to facilitate Successful Project delivery.

·         Liaise with SRAD and WV Security Department to inform them about the Project operations and activities in the Camp, distribution processes, locations and plans.

·         Ensure humanitarian and Sphere standards are met in the Project implementation.

·         Liaise with WFP for the Warehousing facility for the Project and warehouse operations are conducted as per defined policies and standards.

 

Staff Management and Development:

·         Guide the Field Monitors in-order to follow the Food Programming standards during the implementation of the project.

·         Ensure that staff in the camp is submitting the monthly LDRs and other relevant report to respected departments on timely manner.

·         Capacity building of the WV staff and kitchen workers and ensure that all the required and relevant information is shared with staff for their record.

·         Maintain a respective relationship among the project staff and workers and ensure all the required coordination is maintained.

 

Reporting and Information Sharing:

·         Ensure the timely submission of the required reports to Project Manager.

·         Ensure the attendance in the weekly project meeting and share the project updates for the week passed and action points and plan for the up-coming week.

·         Ensure timely sharing of all the relevant information with project manager.

·         Ensure the submission of daily workers’ attendance is maintained and shared with the Project Officer for timely worker’s payment.

·         Ensure that all the required record’s formats are available in the kitchens.

·         Follow ups with Data and Admin Officer to ensure the required supplies are in place.

 

Distribution Management:

·         Ensure that the meals/datebars are distributed to the children attending schools on daily basis with quality.

·         Assist the FMs to ensure that all the required documentation and processes are followed during the distribution of meals/datebars.

·         Supervise and facilitate the cash distribution in the camp and ensure that the operation is not disturbed due to on-going distribution to the workers.

·         Ensure crowed control during the distribution of cash in the kitchens.

·         Any other task assigned by the supervisor.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

·         Degree/diploma in logistics, supply chain management or related technical field.

·         Solid humanitarian field management knowledge and skills.

·         Working knowledge of emergency disaster response operations.

·         Proficiency in both English and Arabic

·         Professional membership of a recognized international supply chain / logistics institute.

·         Training and experience is using word processing, spreadsheet and database computer applications. This includes extensive training on WV’s Non-Food.

·         Tracking System (NTS) used for tracking and reporting on NFI distributions.

·         One-year experience in Food Programming or WFP project.

·         Minimum of 2 years of experience working in humanitarian aid delivery, logistics or supply chain management.

·         Experience in working in Azraq or Zaatari Camp.

·         Experience working in various technical sectors of humanitarian response such as WASH, shelter, health and protection.

·         Experience in working with non-food and food commodity programs.
