IT Support Engineer

General Description:

contributes to the efficient allocation of computer hardware and software resources, maintains business applications, and ensures the reliability and sustainability of information and communication resources according to MSC Geneva Standards and Manuals.

Help Desk Engineer manages projects, provides technical support including maintenance and upgrading of resources, keeping MSC Jordan values and competencies. Support Engineer develops and maintains positive working relationships with all contacts internal and external.

Qualifications:

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science or engineering.
  • 1- 2 years equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of laptops and desktop hardware.
  • Technical knowledge of current protocols, operating systems and standards.
  • Ability to maintain professional service and projects under pressure to meet deadlines and reports.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a team environment with both technical and non-technical team members.
  • Ability to operate with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities appropriately, schedule calls.
  • Ensure User satisfaction, through user follow up skills.
  • Knowledge of all software applications used within the organization

Responsibilities:

  • Work through a helpdesk system to set priorities and build a local IT database for self-learning and development.
  • Software and Hardware Troubleshooting.
  • Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10 experience.
  • Routers, switches and firewall experience.
  • Microsoft Office 2016 Pro and office 365 support.
  • Knowledge in SQL databases.
  • Working knowledge of AD, and remote control tools.
  • Install, upgrade, support and troubleshoot for printers, computer hardware and any other authorized peripheral equipment
  • Performs general preventative maintenance tasks on computers, laptops, printers and any other authorized peripheral equipment
  • Onsite analysis, diagnosis and resolution of desktop problems for end users, ability to escalate calls if needed
  • Assist in user/hardware movement and branch relocations.
  • Plans, organizes and coordinates formal and informal orientation and training of employees.
  • Install, upgrade, support and troubleshoot Enterprise Applications hosted on Windows Server 2012/2016
  • Ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, application servers, and administrative systems
  • Diagnose and quickly resolve a wide range of Windows applications and networking problems to help minimize downtime
  • Troubleshooting network connectivity in a LAN/WAN environment
  • Customize desktop hardware to meet user specifications and site standards
  • Develop trends by monitoring and analyzing incoming calls, problems and support requests
  • Works with other IT team members regarding new branch builds and upgrades
  • Dealing with queries by following departmental procedures for fault resolution
  • Ensures that supported users accurately completes the approved work request with the date and time of submission
  • Develop sound understanding of IT operations and related applications and IT systems as well as business related processes and procedures
  • Develop technical knowledge of each system within company profile and specialized knowledge of certain nominated areas
  • Maintains and consistently demonstrates a general knowledge of company guidelines, processes, practices and procedures
  • Maintains Technical and professional knowledge by being updated of new regulations, participating in training courses and workshops, reading professional related publications.
  • Contributes to team effort and achieving Principal and company mission by performing any given task and completing the results as needed.
